At about 11:38 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, the Meeker County -Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one-vehicle rollover at the intersection of 728th Avenue and 220th Street in Dassel Township. Meeker County Deputies, Dassel Fire and Rescue, Mayo Ambulance, and Life Link III all responded to the scene.
Deputies located the male driver holding an unresponsive female passenger. The driver was identified as Austin Klinghagen, 30 of Grove City, and the passenger was identified as Lindsey Nystrom, 31 of Dassel. Deputies determined that Klinghagen drove through the intersection and off the road causing the vehicle to overturn. Nystrom was airlifted from the scene and flown to HCMC with serious injuries.
Deputies determined that Klinghagen was under the influence and he was arrested. He was booked in the Meeker County Jail pending formal charges for driving under the influence and criminal vehicular operation.
