Express top Lakers

The Kimball Express traveled to Pearl Lake to face the Lakers on Saturday, June 12. The Express scored slow and steady from the beginning. The Lakers were nearly caught up at the end of the seventh inning (3-2 Kimball), but the Express scored three more runs to end the game 6-2.

Jordan Joseph led the Express, hitting 3 doubles. Scott Marquardt hit a double and a -single. Adam Beyer hit three -singles while Cade Marquardt, Brian Marquardt, and Matt Friesen each hit 2.

Zach Dingmann earned the win for the Express. He struck out 6 and walked 2 while keeping the Lakers to only 5 hits and 2 runs. Andy Dingmann pitched 2 innings in relief.

Mitch Wieneke would take the loss, also pitching 7 innings. He struck out 3 and walked 4 while allowing 3 runs on 10 hits. Justin Kunkel and Andrew Schmidt pitched another inning each.

Hitting highlights for the Lakers include a double by Justin Kunkel, and a pair of singles by Andrew Schmidt.
