John Rose died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at his Maple Lake home. He was 54.
An outdoor funeral liturgy will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, in the St. Timothy Catholic Church parking lot with Fr. John Meyer officiating. Please feel free to bring a chair and dress appropriately for the weather. Attendees are welcome to attend the service from inside their vehicles, or to sit closer to the service outdoors. The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home’s website. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery in Maple Lake. A walk-through visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake. Masks are required, and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
John Arnold Rose was born Nov. 23, 1966, in St. Cloud to Donald and Lorraine (Newman) Rose. He grew up in South Haven and was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fair Haven. He attended school in Kimball, graduating with the Class of 1985. He furthered his education at St. Cloud Technical College and became an electrician. John was employed as a union electrician with IBEW 292. On June 4, 1994, he was united in marriage to Eileen Drontle at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. They made their home outside of Maple Lake where they raised their three children. John enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or landscaping. As a handyman, John also liked to fix, tinker, work on house projects, and remodel homes.
John was preceded in death by his father Donald.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Eileen of Maple Lake; children Emily Rose of Maple Lake, Ashley Rose of Montrose, and Derek Rose of Maple Lake; siblings Judy (and Dennis) Silkworth of Milaca, and James (and Karlene) Rose of Redwood Falls; and nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
