At about 6:55 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 3, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call of a vehicle crash at County Road 32 and County Road 195 in Zion township, about one mile south of St. Martin.
Upon arrival the Stearns County Deputy found that a single vehicle had been west bound on County Road 32 when it left the roadway and went into the ditch. It traveled about 50 yards before it hit the embankment for County Road 195 and vaulted. It landed in a field on the opposite side of County Road 195 where it rolled and came to a rest. The driver, Rebecca Lundeen, 24 of Belgrade, was not at the scene of the crash when the deputy arrived. The vehicle was a 2005 Honda CRV and was totaled.
The driver was later located at home and spoke to the deputy. She had been alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash and said she fell asleep while on her way back home from a trip out of state. She had no injuries, and no other vehicles were involved.
