At 11:27 a.m., Monday, Dec. 28, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a house fire in the 400 block of Church Street South in Eden Valley. Meeker County Deputies, Eden Valley Fire Department, and Watkins Fire Department all responded. Emergency responders arrived to find the fire in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was extinguished, and the damage was contained to the upstairs bedroom; no injuries were reported. The initial investigation determined the cause of the fire was a faulty power strip. The owner of the house is Barbara Miller, 69.
