Ronald Hoefer, 62


Ronald Hoefer of Annandale died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, at St. Cloud Hospital. He was 62.

A private memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Pastor Mark Andrews officiating. The service will be live-streamed through the funeral home website.

Ronald Anthony Hoefer was born April 11, 1958, in St. Cloud to Kenneth and LaVera (Kriedeman) Hoefer. Ron grew up in Fair Haven and attended high school in Annandale. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy at the end of the Vietnam War. Ron was united in marriage to Penny Pritchard in Arapahoe County, Colo.; they later divorced. He worked as a mechanic for various employers for more than 20 years. Ron loved to be outdoors, hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He enjoyed working on cars and listening to music, especially Lynyrd Skynyrd. On Sundays, he could be found cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos. Above all, he cherished the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, stillborn son Brandon, brother Kevin Hoefer, and ex-wife Penny Hoefer.

He is survived by children Justin (and Lindsay) Hoefer of Annandale, Amanda (and Ryan) Kelly of Forest Lake, and Ryan Hoefer of Forest Lake; grandchildren Barrett and Jocelyn Hoefer, and Reece Kelly; mother LaVera Hoefer of Marysville, Wa.; siblings Deb (and Dan) Snabb of Cokato, Denise (and Rick) Leffler of Watertown, Dawn Nightingale of Coeur d’Alene, Ida., Brian Hoefer of Marysville, Wa., and Craig Hoefer of Marysville, Wa.; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
