Hello, Kimball community. Updating on what has been happening the last couple of months with the Kimball Lions.
Oct. 2, we tried our hands at a drive-thru/to-go fish fry for our annual fall fish fry fundraiser, trying to continue using safe ways and COVID restrictions to keep our club going.
We are so thankful for your continued support that allows us to give back to this community. A huge “thank you” to the local restaurants SOB’s, Triple R Grill & Bar, and Mom’s Place for their hospitality in their part when we were running out of everything!
Our apologizes to those who came and we had run out of fish and had to turn you away. We were amazed, to say the least, at the turnout and response, and had not planned for more than 325 dinners.
Oct. 16, we lost a dear member, Jerry Lang. Jerry passed away peacefully in his sleep. He will surely be missed by many in the community of the Lions, and Jerry being an avid supporter of our youth sports. Our deepest sympathies to Diane and the family.
Oct. 20, just have to mention so it’s on the record, “it snowed” like 4-5 inches here in Kimball. But the Lions had nothing to do with it, we promise!
Nov. 4, the Kimball Lions assisted with the pre-school screening at the elementary school with our state-of-the art Lions KidSight screening which is a community eye screening for children that can detect early eye problems. We tested nine children ages 3 and 4.
Nov. 22, the Kimball Lions will be selling Christmas wreaths. We will be going door-to-door that early afternoon, we will also have wreaths at Knaus Sausage House, or contact any Lion member or call (320) 492-1527 to have one delivered. The cost of wreaths is $15 for regular (25”) and $25 for large (36”). See the want ads this week for further information on wreaths for cemetery monuments.
Nov. 27, we will participate in the Mini Dazzle Parade that the Boy Scouts and Kimball Area Chamber are sponsoring, a great idea to lift our spirits for the upcoming Christmas season. The Lions have donated $200 to the Boy Scouts for items they may need to light up and decorate the shelter area for the Holidays. Hope to see you at the parade.
Be safe and well, Kimball community, in all you do.
