I-94 Albertville-to-Clearwater open house in Monticello postponed to Feb. 4

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has postponed the I-94 Albertville-to-Clearwater open house scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 29 in Monticello, due to forecasted inclement weather.

Those interested in learning about plans to expand I-94 to six lanes between County Road 37 in Albertville and Highway 24 in Clearwater, and commenting on the project’s environmental documents, are encouraged to attend the rescheduled open house Monday, Feb. 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Monticello Community Center, 505 Walnut Street, in the Mississippi Room. A brief presentation begins at 7 p.m.

Those attending the open house will be able to view the proposed layouts and provide input on the I-94 Albertville-to-Clearwater Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) / Environmental Assessment (EA). The EAW/EA is a federally required document that provides information on the project and required permits, and helps identify ways to protect the environment.

Representatives from MnDOT and its consultant team will be on hand throughout the open house to answer any questions, and attendees may arrive at any time.

While the EAW/EA covers all of I-94 between County Road 37 in Albertville and Highway 24 in Clearwater, only I-94 between Highway 24 in Monticello and Highway 24 in Clearwater is planned for construction at this time.

Those unable to attend the open house may submit written statements or comments regarding the EAW/EA to Claudia Dumont, Project Manager, by email at claudia.dumont@state.mn.us; or by mail to:
Claudia Dumont, MnDOT District 3, 3725 12th St N, St. Cloud MN 56303. Official comments to be included with the EAW/EA must be received by Feb. 20, 2019.
