Three Cubs pitchers combine for no-hitter


The Kimball eighth-grade baseball team traveled to Kennedy Junior High last Monday, April 30. Devin Waldorf received the nod and opened on the mound for the Cubs.  Waldorf pitched three innings and gave up one run on nine walks. He had four strikeouts in the 14-1 win for the Cubs. Cody Leither relieved Waldorf and worked two innings. Leither struck out four and walked three. Ashton Hanan closed the game striking out all three hitters he faced.

The Cubs picked up 12 hits with four of them being for extra bases. Jake Spaulding led the hitting attack with three hits, while Ace Meyer and Cody Leither each had two. Meyer and Waldorf each had three runs batted in, and Hanan and Ty Gustafson had two apiece. Hanan also scored three runs. The win evens the Cub’s record at 1-1 on the season.
